Yakov BenTsvi

Yakov BenTsvi is a Hollywood filmmaker and entrepreneur with a career in US and international film production and financing for the past 25 years.

Mr. BenTsvi was born in Romania and educated in the US, where he began his successful career in the film and television business as both a producer for studio films and as an independent filmmaker.

Mr. BenTsvi and his current production partner have produced and arranged the financing for over 80 hours of documentary series and specials for television networks worldwide.

In the early 90's they raised $14,000,000 in deficit financing for seasons 2 and 3 of the Canadian Treaty Co-Production series, SWEATING BULLETS (aka TROPICAL HEAT), a one-hour detective action show for CBS.

Mr. BenTsvi's production credits, among others, include work on TURBO RANGERS, the feature film version of the successful children's television series, THE POWER RANGERS, for Saban Entertainment and Fox Studios, and MIDNIGHT HEAT for HBO Networks.

Mr. Bentsvi directed and produced LAUGHING IT UP, a bittersweet, romantic comedy exploring the theme of the eternal battle of the sexes, which won a prize for best comedy at the Houston Film Festival.

His latest production is the feature film TAR, which is in post-production and is stars SPIDERMAN'S James Franco, as well Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis. Also freshly produced is RED SKY, slated for a 2013 summer release, the first aviation movie since TOP GUN, an American - Russian co-production, starring Bill Pullman, Cam Gigandet, Rachael Leigh Cook, Mario Van Peebles and Shane West.

He is in the midst of prepping his next major film project BLOOD, based on the acclaimed graphic novel by DC Comics/Vertigo's J.M. DeMatteis, with Dominic Monaghan (LORD OF THE RINGS, LOST) in the lead role and THE SPARK, starring Abigail Breslin and Liev Schreiber, to be shot on location in Bucharest, Romania and Oklahoma.

Over the past 20 years, Mr. BenTsvi and his partner have produced and arranged the financing for films ranging in budgets from $8 - 40 million, with approximately $100,000,000 million of total aggregate production financing.

Their body of work on films and television series includes Oscar winners such as Kathy Bates (MISERY), James Woods, Lou Gossett Jr. and others.

Mr. BenTsvi is the Executive Vice President of the Genesis Group Unlimited and its subsidiary, Global Motion Picture Group. He and his partner will oversee the development, financing and production of motion pictures around the world.
