The Mango Girl Perseverance and Empowerment Global Book Tour is a project of Dr Ava Eagle Brown. Dr Ava Brown holds two MBAs but she failed math and English. She lives in Croydon, England now but was born and raised in Jamaica. Education was her passport out of poverty but there were many times she'd be found selling mangoes on the street when she should have been in school.

Ava's story is inspirational - we've heard that word a lot, perhaps too much - but this story will make even the coldest heart sit up and take notice. Homeless as a teenager, raped at gunpoint in front of her three-year-old daughter, Ava has lived (survived...and thrived) through extreme violence, incest and abuse. Her story is one of self-confidence, of empowerment, of strength.

Ava is a transformational coach and her experiences have helped her to help many other people. Ava is also a single parent of two children, a business woman and entrepreneur, an author, is working on the creation of the film to go with the book - The Mango Girl, and is an authoritative voice on mental health in the Black communities.

While The Mango Girl has been spotlighted for its book to film, and the book reads like a novel, this is in fact Dr Ava Brown's true life story. One that needs to be told, and people need to listen.
