Hailing from the United States, Jody emigrated to BC in 2014. She received her MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University in Boulder, CO., where she studied East/West approaches to counselling including training in Gestalt, Mindfulness and Body-Centered practices. Jody has taught in the Wilderness Therapy department in the Graduate School of Psychology at Naropa since 2003. She also leads experiential leadership retreats across North America and has been in private counselling practice since 2001. Jody maintains a counseling license in Colorado and Washington states, as well as being registered as a Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia.
Through connection to oneself, community, and the natural world, Jody brings a welcoming and no-nonsense approach to counselling sessions. You can expect heart-felt listening that honours the wisdom inherent in each of us, as we tease out the roadblocks keeping you from full integration and wellness. By encouraging clients to courageously confront challenges, own Life choices, listen to head, heart and soul; as well as demonstrating gentleness for vulnerability and action for progress, Jody will work with you in an empowering way to help you find resolution and foster more joy.
