Dr. Michael Wong is one of fewer than 250 board-certified veterinary neurologists in North America. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, and while there, he founded the UF Veterinary Business Management Association. He went on to complete a medical and surgical internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. He subsequently received his neurology and neurosurgery training at North Florida Neurology.
After completion of his residency, he successfully passed his neurology certifying examination and became board-certified in veterinary neurology the same year. He was one of the first veterinary neurologists to complete the Advanced Neurosurgical Certification. He founded Southeast Veterinary Neurology in 2010.
Southeast Veterinary Neurology is South Florida’s leader in veterinary neurology, neurosurgery, and advanced imaging. Southeast Veterinary specializes in diseases of the brain, spinal cord, and neuromuscular system, including seizures, paralysis and hind limb weakness, balance disorders, neck, or back pain, and weakness.
Dr. Wong has lectured at the local, state and national level and has instructed veterinary students at the UF. He has published articles on MRI, new treatments for encephalitis and new treatments for brain tumors. He enjoys all aspects of neurology, but his passions include spinal surgery, seizure management, management of encephalitis and MRI in the diagnosis of neurological disease.
