Stacey J. Miller, founder of S. J. Miller Communications (a book promotion firm based in a Boston, Massachusetts suburb), specializes in developing winning media strategies for authors and publishers, and in coordinating national and regional tours. A former in-house publicist for a trade book publisher, she has successfully promoted trade books for nearly two decades. Her clients—ranging from Prentice Hall and McGraw-Hill to independent publishing houses and self-published authors—have enjoyed exposure on top television and radio shows from coast to coast, in major national and local print, and online.
She is also the author of a bestselling self-published book, 101 Recipes for Microwave Mug Cakes (BPT Press). As her own book publicist, Stacey launched a campaign that integrated every traditional and online book promotion strategy she’d honed (and, in some cases, created) over the years. Her book’s sales ranking peaked at #130 on Amazon and at #4 on BN.com. Her successful book promotion campaign included an appearance on Harpo Production’s “Rachael Ray Show.”
She contributed to the IBPA’s ebook, The Book Publishers Toolkit: 10 Practical Pointers for Independent and Self Publishers, Volume 1 (all royalties from e-book sales are donated to the nonprofit IBPA to invest in the improvement of marketing and educational programs for members).
Stacey has been interviewed by USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, Associated Press Broadcasting Network, Wireless Flash, MSNBC.com, C/NET Radio, Talk America Radio Network, Animal Radio, and more. She holds a B.S. in mass communication from Emerson College, and she resides in the Greater Boston (Massachusetts) area.
