Matthew E. Ladd is a former prosecutor with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. He’s handled thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, including high profile cases, violent crimes, child abuse, theft, homicide, and more. After fulfilling his commitment to State Attorney, Katherine Fernandez Rundle, he served former House Speaker Marco Rubio in the Florida House of Representatives.

While in the legislature, Matthew Ladd assisted in the creation of legislation related to criminal justice, foreclosure rescue services, public safety, auto insurance, immigration reform, property taxes, homeowner and condominium association reform, as well as compensation for the wrongfully incarcerated. He also served as a special master presiding over claim bill hearings.

Ladd is a proud alumnus of Marshall University (2000) where he earned a BA in Business Administration and served as president of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. After graduating, he attended Syracuse University College of Law (2003) where he earned his law degree and was elected vice-president of his class. Matthew Ladd was also honored as a member of their Moot Court Honor Society and Top 10 nationally ranked intercollegiate competitive trial teams.

Since 2003, Matthew Ladd has been a member of the Florida Bar and has been admitted to practice before the United States Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida, which includes Miami. He is a member of the Dade County Bar Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, Kiwanis of Little Havana, and BNI-Coral Gables. Ladd also proudly sponsors the Dade County Police Benevolent Association.

Ladd’s practice focuses on criminal litigation in Federal and State Court. He also handles a variety of civil litigations including divorce, time-sharing, adoptions, and realtor specific legal services such as evictions, writs of possession, etc.
