Hugh is a former Post Newsweek investigative reporter who also holds a Master's in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Illinois. He owned a public relations consulting business for over 30 years. In 1999 he wrote his first book A Family Survival Manual for Y2K & Beyond leading to the past 20 plus years as a Preparedness and Survival consultant and authoring 6 more books in the niche including his latest Xtreme Preparedness on Land & Sea under his pen name MR Valentine.
