Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) has announced a new tower/antenna location in Auburn, N.C., that will significantly upgrade the already powerful Triangle signal for 99.9 FM The Fan (WCMC-FM).

Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) has announced the transition of Sports Radio 850 The Buzz to 620 AM – WDNC. WDNC, formerly 620 The Bull, will be known as 620 The Buzz. Many of the highly rated, long time local and national sports talk shows heard on 850 have made the transition to 620 The Buzz, effective immediately.

Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) has announced the launch of ESPN Deportes Radio, 1550 AM (WCLY), adding to the Triangle sports radio programming the communication company currently offers. ESPN Deportes Radio has been serving Hispanic sports fans in the U.S. since 2000 and offers a variety of sports talk programming and events, highlighted by exclusive, national Spanish-language broadcasts of Major League Baseball, Mexican League Soccer, UEFA Champions League and NASCAR. ESPN Deportes Radio 1550 AM in the Triangle will be the only affiliate in the Southeast region outside of Florida and Knoxville, TN.

Coastal Federal Credit Union and WRBZ Sports Radio 850 The Buzz kicked off the Scholar Athlete of the Month program for an 8th consecutive year this September. Each month during the school year, two winners will be selected from a pool of nominees who excel in both sports and academics. Winners will receive on-air recognition and a commemorative trophy. Additionally, Coastal will grant a $400 scholarship to each school in the student's honor.

Bomani Jones, host of “The Three Hour Lunch Break” on Sports Radio 620 The Bull weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1p.m. and “Sports Saturday with Bomani Jones” on Sports Radio 850 The Buzz Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon, will be featured in the HBO documentary “Battle For Tobacco Road: Duke vs. Carolina.”
