The great changes of phosphate fertilizer industry will have great influence on the development of phosphorus. Some producers have combined phosphorus ore and electricity to improve the comprehensive competitiveness. Will it be the future trend of the industry?

The U.S was rich in phosphorus ore, and it once was the largest producer of phosphorus ore . However, phosphorus is a non-renewable resource. In the aim to protect its resources, the U.S has limited the export and exploitation of phosphorus ore since 1980s. In recent years, its production has been less than that of China and begun to export phosphorus ore from Morocco.

In 2010, India imposed an anti-dumping duty of up to USD0.671 per kilo on Chinese imports of sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), a chemical used in the manufacture of household cleaning products from Hubei Xingfa Chemicals Group Co., Ltd. Later in that year, the U.S announced a rule to levy anti-dumping duty on Chinese phosphate, and the rate is 69.58%-95.40%. So did Mexico.
