The Champion Racing Oil/Hoseheads.com Central PA Sprint Cars season is one race away from ending for 2020. Saturday October 24th BAPS Motor Speedway ran the only race of the weekend for the series, with Anthony Macri taking his 9th win of the year.

Winning the 47th Devil's Bowl Winter Nationals opener the second year in a row, Hafertepe led start-to-finish behind the wheel of the Hills Racing No. 15h sponsored by Champion Racing Oil. The win also moves Sam Hafertepe to third on the all-time win list with ASCS, passing Wayne Johnson with his 55th career triumph.

Bacon finished second to clinch the championship behind Tyler Courtney in the 30-lap season finale, but Courtney's car was 15 pounds light during post-race inspection and Bacon inherited the $10,000 feature victory.

Donny Schatz, of Fargo, ND, won his sixth Champion Racing Oil National Open at the historic Williams Grove half-mile speedway and claimed the $75,000 top prize last Saturday.

Kyle Larson won at Lincoln Speedway on Wednesday night. Thursday night Larson won again in the Kevin Gobrecht Classic at BAPS Motor Speedway.

Hafertepe grabbed the lead, running Champion Racing Oil, from Derek Hagar with two laps remaining and held on to earn his third ASCS Winged Sprint victory in the Hockett-McMillin Memorial. He took home $10,000 in a race that he also won in 2017 and '18.

"We were really good all night," Dewease said. "We unloaded and we were really good. I can't complain one bit. We had speed the whole night. I could pass cars the whole night. We were pretty good here last Saturday. We were pretty good here a couple of months ago when Kyle Larson won and I ran second from 10th. We've definitely gained on it here and hopefully we can get in a position to have a shot at it again."

The victory was Bacon's 34th in USAC National Sprint Car competition, putting him just one behind Jon Stanbrough and Rich Vogler for 10th all-time. Though Bacon leads the points, he aims not to just merely "point race." He intends to win races and let the points sort out however they may, and he's accomplished that better than anyone else in the series this year with the victory marking a series-leading fifth triumph of the year.
