Neonatal (Preterm) Infant Care is an intensive care unit specializing in the care of ill or premature newborn infants. Neonatal refers to the first 28 days of life. The newborns, which are birth prematurely, are known as Neonatal. In such cases, babies require special assistance and monitoring due to critical medical conditions. In order to ensure the proper care and treatment for healthy development, the infants are kept in special wards, referred as neonatal care unit. Neonatal equipment comprises devices and equipment used in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), for neonatal care such as respiratory assistance, monitoring, thermoregulation, and others.
