Chondroitin sulfate is a chemical present in cartilage surrounding the joints in the human body. The chemical is normally produced from animal sources like cow cartilage and sharks. In medical applications, chondroitin sulfate or CDS is used for osteoarthritis and mostly in combination with ingredients, such as glucosamine sulfate, N-acetyl glusocamine, manganese ascorbate, or glucosamine hydrochloride. The chemical is also consumed orally for AIDS/HIV, cardiac attack, heart-related disorders, weak bones, joint pain resulting from the drugs that treat acid reflux, breast cancer, high cholesterol, muscle soreness caused doe to exercise, and several bone disorders.
