The revised Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China will be implemented starting from 1 Sept., 2015. This law stipulates detailed requirements on pesticide advertisements. An advertisement for any pesticides should not contain the following;

In May 2015, paraquat AS again escapes from being listed in the Annex III of the PIC Convention. And the issue on prohibition of paraquat AS will be discussed in the 2017 Conference of the PIC Convention after two years. To be optimistic, the development of paraquat AS can be guaranteed in the coming two years, at least Chinese paraquat enterprises will not face great impact for the moment. Nevertheless, it is still possible that paraquat AS will be listed in the Annex III two years later. Based on the previous experience, the trade of pesticide concluded in this list will be reduced and even be blocked. Obviously, the development of non-AS paraquat is going to be the irreversible trend for China's paraquat industry.

Glyphosate has the largest consumption among the sterilant herbicides; besides, it is widely used with low price. However, after using for years with large quantity, glyphosate's effect on perennial malignant weeds weakens. Glufosinate-ammonium, with excellent effect on parts of malignant weeds resistant to glyphosate, covers the shortage of glyphosate. Recently, some domestic enterprises put forward the application for registrations on formulations mixed by glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium. For this, the ICAMA collects suggestions and opinions concerning the rational mix proportion for these formulations. In fact, the formulations mixed by glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium can help solve the problem of glyphosate resistance. Meantime, it can increase the consumption of glufosinate-ammonium. If the mixed formulations are developed and registered successfully, glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium will have promising development prospect. Nevertheless, at present, related products are still undergoing primary stage of registration application, and the MOA should arrange various experiments after determining the rational mix proportion. Therefore, it will take at least two years for the registration approval. Currently, due to the insufficient production capacity and exorbitant price of glufosinate-ammonium, the market demand is not fully released. What's more, there are still few enterprises can achieve mass-production on glufosinate-ammonium, due to production technique, safety and high requirements of environmental protection. It is believed that if the mixed formulations of glyphosate and glufosinate-ammonium are launched on the market, the consumption volume will be stimulated to some extent.

In May 2015, China's market price of corn declines from the high and the market prices of corn products also record declines in general. In detail, the soaring import volume of DDGS pulls down the market price; corn starch price slightly drops in May after three months' rises; the price of corn gluten meal decreases by 6.4% month on month. Additionally, some products achieve rises in prices, such as furfural and MSG. The market price of furfural is pulled up by the increasing operating rates of downstream furfuryl alcohol enterprises; and the MSG price soars to USD65.4/t-USD98.1 /t. Although corn price declines in May, it still remains at high level.

On 25 May, 2015, Shanghai Composite Index rosed by 3.4% to 4,81 3.798 point, breaking the highest record since Jan. 2008. This month, the National Development and Reform Commission proposed over 1 ,000 projects and encouraged private investors to invest, construct and operate the above projects. Besides, the Ministry of Finance of People's Republic of China announced that import tariff on daily consumer goods would be lowered down in June. The favorable news boosted the stock market.

According to the Membrane Industry Association Industry of China, there are around 600 companies specializing in membrane materials, components, and water treatment engineering in China. Only 10 of these companies are medium size or large manufacturing companies, and less than 10 companies have sales of over RMB100 million. Most of the products produced by domestic companies are applied in middle and low end market, while big engineering projects are dominated by global companies.

By 2013, there are over 24847 third party inspection companies in China, covering 25 industries nationwide. Third party inspection industry is considered as one of the most promising and fast growing service industry in China. In 2014, the market scale of this industry reached RMB54.22 billion which grew by 18.3%.
