Precision Coating (PCCI) was one of 84 companies awarded Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) Grants from the Baker-Polito Administration. The grants will fund customized training for almost 6,000 workers and are expected to create more than 1,100 new jobs in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts over the next two years. This state-wide training promotes job growth, retention, and increased opportunity for workers by enhancing businesses' productivity and their ability to grow their business in Massachusetts. This project is funded by a workforce training fund grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. The grant program is administered by Commonwealth Corporation.

MD&M West is North America's largest three-day medtech conference and offers professionals opportunities to explore new technologies, education, and connections to stay ahead in the medical device manufacturing industry.

Bill Ellerkamp has been a non-executive director at Precision Coating's parent company, Katahdin Industries Inc., since 2016. More recently, Bill has taken an active role consulting with the company, and the decision to hire Ellerkamp culminates an important transition. "Bill adds considerable strength to our management team and allows Bob DeAngelis and me to work on the next stages of company growth," said Tim Cabot, Katahdin Industries CEO and Chairman. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Food Safety & Applied Nutrition recently approved the use of MICRALOX®, a patented hard coat anodize technology product created by Sanford Process and supplied by its sister company, Precision Coating, as suitable for food contact. Precision Coating Co., Inc. (PCCI), a subsidiary of Katahdin Industries, Inc., held a successful grand opening event of the first and only PTFE coating facility in Costa Rica, on May 23, 2017. PCCI's board of directors, along with its management and staff, welcomed local and global visitors to the celebration of the new 1,300 m²/14,000 ft² state-of-the-art coating facility, which is in one of the newest free-trade zone industrial parks: Coyol Free Zone & Business Park, Edificio B 25, Alajuela.
