According to recent statistics released by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), between April 2014 and March 2015, 142 people were fatally injured at work. This is an increase when compared to the all time low last year of 136 fatalities.

Couple Sue Tour Operator After Falling Ill on Holiday

A couple are suing their tour operator after falling ill during a luxury holiday in Cuba. The wife fell sick with a severe gastric illness that required repeated trips to the hospital, leaving them unable to enjoy their special treat. The couple believe the holiday provider is responsible, due to not maintaining the venue properly – with unsanitary conditions potentially aggravating the woman's complaint and in turn putting the couple's health and safety at risk. Sadly the wife is still suffering from the effects of the illness.

The Accident Team Comments on the Recent Figures Released About Accidents in the Workplace

In recent research by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), it was highlighted that employees between the ages of 18 and 24 are at least 50% more likely to suffer an injury at work than people 25 and over. They are also more prone to suffering from occupational illnesses.
