The analysts forecast the global RTD infant milk market to grow at a CAGR of 3.74% during the period 2017-2021. RTD infant milk is made of modified cow's milk infused with vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and vegetable oils. Casein is the most significant protein in cow's milk. However, the primary protein in breast milk is whey protein; hence many RTD infant milk formulas are predominantly altered to contain whey protein. Despite altering the milk formula with whey, milk formula differs from breast milk because of its different amino acid and protein composition. However, RTD infant milk formula contains the necessary nutrients for babies to grow. Further, RTD infant milk formula also contains the necessary added nutrients and vitamins such as iron, which aids in preventing anemia. Some RTD infant milk formulas also contain probiotic Bifidobacterium lactis, which significantly reduces colic, lowers the risk of food allergies, and helps in reducing diarrhea. Commercial prepared milk formula brands thus meet the nutritional requirement and safety standards.
