Gaadi.com finds out that the French car producer Renault launched the Duster, a compact SUV, in India in July 2012. The compact SUV concept brought to India for the first time was a block-buster hit and made other car makers such as Mahindra and Ford to also immediately announce their launch strategies. The SUV was so successful that Renault is now considering launching the Renault Duster 4WD in India by March 2013.

Gaadi.com finds out that Nissan Evalia, which was first presented in India at the New Delhi Auto Expo in 2012, is a seven-seater multi purpose vehicle that can comfortably transport the entire joint family or office friends. The MPV from the Japanese car maker most closely competes with the established Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo. Evalia, previously branded Nissan NV200 which was awarded ‘International Van of the year’ in 2010, is one of the largest vehicle in its category and provides good utility and comfort.

Gaadi.com finds out that Nissan Murano that is due for launch in 2013, is positioned as a five-seater mid-sized crossover SUV. The luxury class SUV will a class apart with price tag of over Rs. 30 lakhs. The SUV Murano was launched nearly a decade back in the western countries and will be launched in India in 2013. The vehicle will mark the Japanese car maker’s entry into the SUV segment where it will compete with the various models of most other premium SUVs.

The German luxury carmaker plans to follow it with BMW 7 Series and 1 Series, later during 2013. The launch is clearly an attempt by BMW to connect with Indian consumers, given the stiff competition it faces from Audi.

The latter which is the cheaper of the two is priced at Rs. 81.72 lakh and will compete with BMW Z4, Nissan 370Z, and Mercedes SLK. Boxster. Baxster, the speedster, is available in a choice of 17 different colours comes in four models as Boxster, Boxster PDK (Automatic), Boxster S and Boxster S PDK (Automatic).

Gaadi.com finds out that Audi is planning to bring into India, the S6 model, a super luxury class sedan sometime in second quarter of calendar year 2013. Audi first showcased the S6 at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. Globally, launched in 1994, S6 is one of the most successful Audi cars. It is being thought that Audi is bringing this car to India as Audi has a target to overtake BMW as the largest seller of luxury cars by 2015. Audi entered India relatively late as compared to BMW and Mercedes Benz, but has grown at a much faster pace.

Gaadi.com finds out that Chevrolet may be planning to launch a new and upgraded hatchback Beat in the second quarter of 2013. A new avatar of Beat was presented in the 2012 Paris Motors Show. This car is mechanically the same but contains cosmetic changes for a sportier look. Decline in sales in last few months has prompted GM to bring in new the new hatchback. Beat is the most important car for Chevrolet as it was a landmark in terms of new looks and kept pace with changing Indian consumer’s desires.

Enjoy, second MPV offering from Chevrolet after Tavera, is based on design taken from Chinese vehicle Wuling CN-100 that is developed by the China joint venture of GM and SAIC. Chevrolet has already launched two more vehicles from same JV, the hatchback Sail U-VA, and the sedan Sail in recent months in India.
