Sovereign Health's Latest Schizophrenia Editorial Examines Relationship to PTSD

LogoSovereign Health Group has launched the fourth part of its editorial campaign, “Unlocking the Black Box of Schizophrenia.” This latest article, “When schizophrenia resembles PTSD,” examines how veterans with schizophrenia may be mistakenly diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. The Black Box series takes a look at the biological origins, symptoms and stigma associated with schizophrenia. Throughout the month of May, which is designated as Mental Health Month, Sovereign Health mounted a comprehensive campaign about schizophrenia, a severe brain disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally.

Sovereign Health Recognizes Schizophrenia Awareness Week 2016

LogoIn recognition of Schizophrenia Awareness Week (May 17-23), Sovereign Health has published a new Q & A interview on the topic of schizophrenia featuring Ash Bhatt, M.D., Sovereign Health Group’s Chief Medical Officer. The goal of this interview, which explores the state of the science in schizophrenia diagnosis and management, is to raise awareness of the challenges posed by schizophrenia, a mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels and behaves.

Sovereign Health Offers May Continuing Education Opportunities

These courses meet the qualifications for one hour of C.E. credit required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), and are approved for one contact hour by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Sovereign Health Group Recognizes Mental Health Awareness Month 2016

LogoIn recognition of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, Sovereign Health Group will offer extensive editorial coverage throughout the month, as well as launch a campaign designed to enlighten the public about the epidemic of mental illness in the United States. Mental Health America (MHA), founded in 1909, is the nation’s leading nonprofit dedicated to addressing the needs of those dealing with mental illness. Since 1949, MHA has been leading the observance of May as Mental Health Awareness Month. The goal of Mental Health Awareness Month is to raise awareness about mental health disorders.

Sovereign Health of Chandler to Launch New Networking Luncheons

LogoSovereign Health of Chandler will soon launch networking luncheons for the Chandler community.  These continuing education (C.E.) events will take place on the third Wednesday of each month, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  The first C.E. event will be held on May 19, 2016 at 5520 W. Judy Sylvia Joins Sovereign Health Group as Senior Director, National Admissions Strategy

LogoSovereign Health Group has appointed Judy Sylvia Senior Director, National Admissions Strategy. Ms. Sylvia is a forward-thinking executive in the behavioral health field and is an expert in admissions management. She commenced her tenure with Sovereign Health on Thursday, April 14. Ms. Sylvia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from San Jose State University. In her previous role, she served as Vice President, Access Systems and Call Center at Elements Behavioral Health in Long Beach, California.

Sovereign Health of Chandler Announces New Phase of Trauma Program

LogoSovereign Health of Chandler is pleased to present Serenity House, a new component of our trauma program designed to facilitate patients' transition to recovery. Serenity House provides new patients with an emotional soft landing as they take their first steps toward healing. While in Serenity House, patients learn self-calming techniques and undergo comprehensive diagnostic assessments in a soothing and intimate community. Following the Serenity House phase of treatment, patients are then better prepared to enter the next phase of treatment in Sovereign Health of Chandler's trauma program.
