With the compassion and unrelenting energy of dedicated parents and educators, Alpine Learning Group took shape more than twenty years ago. At a time when most people thought that the future for children with autism was hopeless, our founders believed that every individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and began the monumental process of establishing a school that would provide the education and support their children needed. From these humble beginnings, Alpine Learning Group has become a leader in the field of autism education and is internationally renowned for its methods, research and success. Our staff present regularly at national and international autism conferences as well as publish book chapters, peer-reviewed research articles and empirical studies that provide families, teachers and professionals access to Alpine’s innovative teaching approaches. Here are some of the ways that Alpine Learning Group has changed the landscape of the treatment of autism. Alpine Learning Group has trained hundreds of teachers and interns over the past two decades who work within the autism community, in private schools and in public school programs. Our curriculum model has been replicated in private schools, both locally and internationally, and our staff has provided consultation to public schools for their special needs programs. We provide the public with information on autism, the principles of applied behavior analysis, and Alpine Learning Group’s teaching methods through free workshops and seminars for professionals, parents and caregivers. Our staff present regularly at national and international autism conferences as well as publish book chapters, articles and studies that provide families, teachers and professionals access to Alpine’s innovative teaching approaches. We provide training to service providers within the community including doctors, dentists, beauty salons, bus drivers and other professionals who serve individuals with autism. Our Supported Internship Program connects students with their community as they hone their vocational skills in paid and volunteer positions. The Adult Program has established a standard of excellence for integration of adults with autism into society through employment opportunities and continuing education.
