Beatriz Barata is CEO of ScottUrb, Lisbon, Lisbon, Portugal. Scotturb's history is intertwined with the history of public transport in Portugal, as the company results from the nationalization of the companies Cernache do Bom Jardim, Palhinhas, Sintra Atlântico and Boa Viagem, integrated in the National Bus Terminal, from 25 April de 1974. 1976 , the year in which the Portuguese State nationalized 94 road passenger transport companies under the same flag, organized them into nine passenger operation centers, depending on the areas of operation, and then brought together the entire Lisbon area in the DGRL – Directorate-General for the Lisbon Region, later transformed into Rodoviária de Lisboa. With the privatization of Rodoviária de Lisboa, in May 1995, the exploratory area comprising Cascais, Sintra e Oeiras is acquired by the English company Stagecoach Holdings, operating in our country under the name Stagecoach Portugal. At the time of June 2001, the company was sold and introduced itself as Scotturb, marking the beginning of a new era in the company's history, but also of public passenger transport, having been, in August 2004, completely restructured, both to level of internal organization, as well as infrastructure and transport network, the result of a new management.
