Michael Zimits
Chief Operating Officer
Michael Zimits is a founding partner of BCSI.io with 31 years of market experience spanning accounting, product control, operations, middle office, and project management. After graduating Adelphi University in 1985 with a degree in
accounting, Michael began his career as a staff accountant. Working with OTC Derivative Products since 1987, Zimits grew with the market maintaining global management positions at several major broker dealers and banks.
In 2000, Michael joined as one of several founding employees in starting GlobeOp Financial Services. Maintaining a portion of ownership, Michael designed and built out the OTC Derivative platform to attract and support the firms‘s client
base. After the taking the company public, he moved on to Merrill Lynch in 2005, where he (and the team) launched the Fixed Income Prime Broker corner-stoned on Rate and Credit Derivative Swap Intermediation. During that time, Michael also launched the firm’s FX Prime Services and consolidated the FXPB onto the Fixed Income multi-asset platform. Joining Citi as Managing Director and the Global Head of the OTC Derivative Clearing business, Michael led the effort in designing, architecting, and marketing the OTC multi-asset clearing platform while also representing the firm to the industry while debating and commenting on market convention and potential regulation.
