Broken Chains Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Citizens released from prison and returning to the Washington, DC area. Our mission is to educate and empower Citizens by facilitating access to vital resources and services such as food, clothing, housing, counseling, transportation, and employment assistance which are amongst the most critical needs upon reentry back into society. Additionally, we host various trainings and workshops throughout the year to educate and empower Citizens with the necessary skills to obtain employment as well as provide job referrals and placement opportunities. We want to spread our message of hope and compassion and believe that a single action can make a difference in the community, and collectively we can greatly impact the world. - ?Education & Outreach: With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the myriad of challenges faced by returning citizens. Therefore, it is our mission to facilitate the access of information through this website as well as various other social media to provide a platform for returning citizens to obtain vital information key to their success. - Support Services: At Broken Chains Inc, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the myriad of challenges faced by citizens returning to society. This is by no means an easy feat, but through the support of community, various professionals and clinicians, Broken Chains Inc. will be able to facilitate access to support services such as assessment and counseling, family reunification, vocational training, housing, employment, food and nutrition.
