Leni Robredo Biography

Philippine’s President Rodrigo Duterte fired the vice president Leni Robredo from her job as the overseer of his drug war. A few days before, he also called her a ‘scatterbrain’ who shouldn’t be trusted with the secrets of the state. Robredo, who’s 54 years of age, worked less than three weeks for Duterte’s anti-narcotics campaign. According to her, the police were committing crimes against all humanity by killing thousands of people suspected of drug abuse and vowed to put an end to this ‘senseless’ killings. Rodrigo Duterte said on media that he doesn’t trust her, while also calling her a ‘scatterbrain’ who could share confidential estate matters with outsiders. In response, Robredo said that the president should fire her if he didn’t trust her. Duterte had also questioned the vice president’s capability to lead the country in his absence. While the Filipinos are in favor of the drug war, most of them are aware that the war is just a way for disguising the killings of thousands of people in the name of personal disputes and political rivalries.
