Linemen Institute of the North East

The Linemen Institute of the North East is an electrical linemen pre-apprentice program. Our students over a course of 15 weeks will learn a multitude of topics that are almost always required to know when entering an apprenticeship. Students spend 90% of their time at our school outdoors on our state-of-the-art pole yard with poles ranging from 65 to 85 feet. Students take a test after 3 weeks to be certified as pole climbers which means that they successfully and safely climb poles with linemen gear on. Students learn power line installation and removal, overhead power line transmission maintenance, service installation, setting and replacing poles and so much more. Our students not only leave with pole climbing certification but also first aid and CPR, OSHA 10 hour course, pole top and bucket rescue, Commercial Drivers License, digger truck operations and the big certificate that proves they are certified pre-apprentice electrical linemen ready to hit the ground running as an apprentice lineman.
