MFF was founded by independent filmmakers that learned first-hand how hard it is to find an independent film an audience. Over the last decade MFF has grown to become a fierce alternative to mainstream fare. We have no politics, no agenda, and will never cave into corporate pressure. We are about the filmmakers and their viewers. Period. Our widely popular Profit Sharing Program generates thousands of dollars for independent filmmakers. The festival is covered by local, national, and international media outlets including the New York Times, Good Morning America, Variety, and many more. We have been voted one of “The Coolest Film Festivals in the World? and named “25 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee” by MovieMaker Magazine.
