Mark Hollingsworth

He is the author of 10 books, notably 'Londongrad - From Russia with Cash', 'Saudi Bablyon - Torture, Corruption and Cover-Up Inside the Saudi Royal Family', 'Defending the Realm - Inside MI5 and the War on International Terrorism', "MPs for Hire' and biographies of Mark Thatcher and Lord (Tim) Bell. He is also a regular contributor to 'The Times', 'Mail on Sunday', 'The Guardian', 'Daily Telegraph' and 'Sunday Times' and has written feature articles for 'Tatler', 'ES' magazine, the 'New Statesman' and 'The Spectator'. And he made numerous documentaries for Granada TV's award-winning current affairs programme 'World In Action' in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Mark Hollingsworth specialises in in-depth investigations into Russian Oligarchs, the Middle East, the property world, international wealthy tycoons, the history of espionage and MI5 and MI6, political corruption and the finances of current and past members of the British Royal Family. His first major article (written with David Leigh and Paul Lashmar) published in 'The Observer' in 1985 exposed how MI5 had been vetting and blacklisting staff and potential employees at the BBC. This resulted in his book 'Blacklist' which was published in 1988. More recently, he exposed a "cash-for-access" scheme involving Prince Charles which was published in the 'Mail on Sunday' last year. He is also the co-producer of a film documentary about fake art and fraud in the art world which will be shown internationally in late 2022. And he is currently researching a book about the Cold War.
