Chris Mayes, Founder and CEO of Med X Change has over 20 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant working in various therapeutic settings, including home health care, outpatient rehab, orthopedics, and long-term care. He is also a U.S. Air Force veteran who served our country from 1990 to 1998 during Desert Shield / Desert Storm. In early 2007, I found myself transitioning from a treating practitioner to a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Specialist marketing diabetic footwear, contracture management splints and custom seating systems to long-term care facilities. Over the years of providing DME to patients, clients, and facilities, it was becoming more and more apparent that Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies were making serious changes and cutbacks. This resulted in a steady increase of denying patients the equipment that they so very much needed! As a frustrated service provider jumping through so many hoops to help the patients get approved for the equipment that they truly needed and still getting denied, it was obvious to me that we needed to offer an alternative solution. As a result of the funding cuts and a declining economy, I founded Med X Change LLC in July of 2010. We are a Full-Service DME Company Specializing in New and Refurbished Medical Equipment offering our customers an improved quality of life at a discounted price!
