Based on an international convention, which India is implementing since last year, 'Apostille stickers' will be affixed on documents like certificates , powers of attorney, affidavits and mark sheets by the Apostille Services in Mumbai (Mumbai Attestation) for applicants from Mumbai and Pune. Applicants from Maharashtra can get their documents attested in Mumbai itself. An Apostille is an internationally used term for certification or legalization of a foreign document. The system, based on the Hague Apostille convention of 1961, was introduced in Mumbai on Monday.
