National American Miss (NAM) is NOT a beauty pageant, and never claims to be one. It is the country’s most popular pageant for girls, allowing each girl to showcase her unique gifts, talents, and abilities. And because they focus on natural beauty, there is a “no-makeup” rule for ages 12 and under, something you don’t see in other pageants. National American Miss forgoes the swimsuits and focuses, instead, on the quality, pride and professionalism of their contestants. In addition, National American Miss awards over $1,000,000 each year in cash, awards, scholarships, and prizes, and has the largest award package in the country! There are 4 areas of scoring, none of which involve swimsuits. These areas include formal wear, personal introduction, interview, and community involvement.
