The American Holistic Nurses Association elected Marci Resnicoff as a Board Member–at-Large for the 2014-2016 term. She will be installed at the organization's 34th Annual Conference to be held in Portland, Oregon in June, 2014.

On November 2, 2013, an estimated 400 nurses and mental health professionals will set sail for a 7-night multi-disciplinary holistic and integrative health conference cruise. The “Evolving Conscious Health Community Cruise”, featuring Norman Shealy, M. D., Glenda Christiaens, R.N., PhD, AHN-BC, Jean Watson, R.N., Ph.D., AHN-BC, FAAN and Kim Richards RN is being coordinated by non-profit OxyGenesis Institute of Hartford, Ct, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the American Holistic Nurses Association.

AHNA and the ANA have co-authored and released the Holistic Nursing: Scope & Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition. The new edition contains the 16 standards by which all RNs in holistic nursing are held accountable for their practice. The standards measurable by a set of specific competencies serve as evidence of minimal compliance with the standard. This must have book will be of value when learning how holistic nursing works, and why it is such a rapidly growing approach to wellness.

The American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA, www.ahna.org) annually recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of holistic nursing with the Holistic Nurse of the Year (HNY) award. AHNA proudly honored Dr. Helen Erickson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN at their 32nd annual conference with the 2012 HNY award for her contributions in furthering the practice of holistic nursing and bringing caring and healing to the forefront of nursing practice. The HNY award is presented annually to recognize outstanding achievement in the field of holistic nursing.
