The world of foreign exchange trading (usually shortened to “forex” or just “FX”) has its roots in the closing days of World War II, as the Allies prepared to manage the postwar world. One of the many agreements negotiated during that time was the international monetary management system named for Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, where it was drafted in the summer of 1944.
