Britain's most senior family law judge has called for a streamlining of the process by which couples get divorce. The plans entail a network of regional centres which could process divorce within the space of 24 hours. The intention behind the plans is that it could speed up the process which is currently adversarial and can involve a lot of paperwork, particularly where the division of assets is concerned. But many have called for a shorter process of divorce where children or significant assets are not involved and it is thought that the new moves could make the process a lot less stressful for many.
