Champion Racing Oil sponsors Lloyd "Hooley" Huffman's 1953 Studebaker Coupe that runs in AA Blown Fuel Comp Coupe classification and has previously been the record holder of that class at 246 mph. The record stands today at 249 mph.

"The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has taken the position that it is illegal to make emissions system modifications to motor vehicles that are converted into racecars. This includes changes to the engine, exhaust or any other part of the emission system."

The victory was Nelson's first of the year and marked the first major win for Jonathan Nerren as a multi-car team owner. Last year his Champion Racing Oil sponsored #23 Magnuson Supercharged 240sx took the overall championship win of the United States Drift Series on September 5th, 2015 at Virginia International Raceway.

The team, which ran Champion Racing Oil in their classic racecar, won the 2016 Champion Motor Oil Top Performer Trophy and also won the Expert Class in the competition. In all, their prizes include trophies, cash, and a garage full of Champion Motor Oil.

Champion draws on the success of its racing roots in producing a line of engine oils designed for high performance racing applications and are available in numerous synthetic blends and full synthetic viscosities.

In addition to the cash payouts, Champion, a long time corporate sponsor of the race, will be presenting a Championship Belt and $1000 in racing oil to the highest finishing team overall using Champion lubricants. Champion will also present product awards for the highest finishing teams using Champion products in the Grand National, Expert, Sportsman, and X-Cup Divisions.
