Global veterinary information website PetMD reports dogs are particularly vulnerable to a range of joint issues with aging members of the canine population at heightened risk. Based on success rates of anti-inflammatory agents glucosamine and chondroitin in human osteoarthritis sufferers, the medical world began experimenting with this type of treatment for dogs with positive results equivalent to those of NSAID therapies in some subjects.
