While the cheese version is all but forgotten outside of Swiss restaurants, Chocolate fondue remains extremely popular. This sweet delicacy, made by dipping fruit, pastry, marshmallows and other treats into a warm bowl of melted chocolate, was invented in New York City in the 1960s. In the last few years it has enjoyed a big resurgence.
