Changes to the Immigration Rules made several years ago will come into effect from 2016, when Tier 2 migrants applying for settlement at the end of five years will need to be earning a minimum of £35,000 per year. This is expected to affect the NHS as many of its nurses are from outside the EU, according to the Royal College of Nursing. Nurses are paid considerably less than £35,000 which is why many are concerned at the changes and other lower-earning workers will also see their possibility of arrival restricted. Therefore, it is essential that those who may be affected by the changes seek the appropriate legal support.
