An incredible Syrian monument reported to be destroyed by the Islamic State has been recreated in London's Trafalgar Square. 3D technology and photograph techniques have been used to build the stone scale replica using Egyptian marble form the Institute of Digital Archaeology (IDA). Having been completed, the outstanding recreation is to be showcased in cities around the World including Dubai and New York. London Mayor Boris Johnson looked excited as he unveiled the two-thirds scale structure in an entertaining opening ceremony in defiance of the Islamic State's unthinkable act of vandalism.

The site is based in Worcestershire and located deep in cliffs formed from Triassic sandstone: the stone itself estimated to be about 250-million years old. That the man in question, Angelo Mastropietro, has managed to handcraft the material into a structure of continued durability, highlights the effective practical properties of the rock, as well as strong visual appeal. A new garden is set to open in 2019 in the heart of Greater Manchester, adjoining the Bridgewater Canal in Worsley, Salford. The new 156-acre garden will be the fifth Royal Horticultural Society garden in Britain.
