New York native and creator of My Father's House David Greenwald began his filmmaking education at New York University. He attended the Tisch School of the Arts at the university, where he achieved an MFA in filmmaking. Greenwald began his media career as a music video editor after founding his own company called Ground Control Pictures. His work in this field includes editing videos and concert films for incredibly popular music artists around the world, such as Tupac Shakur, Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie van Halen, Miles Davis, Stevie Wonder, Carly Simon, B.B. King, the Beastie Boys, and Luciano Pavaroti. Greenwald's first work in film was actually a film he wrote and directed as a part of his graduate program at New York University. This film, which was titled The Well, was nominated for a Student Academy Award.
