National Embryo Donation Center Receives New Embryo Donation Education Grant
The National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) announced today it has received a grant from the US Department of Health and Human Services to expand public awareness and increase educational opportunities for industry professionals regarding embryo donation and adoption. Groundbreaking legislation on assisted reproduction and parentage rights has been signed in to law in TN with the aid of a non-profit national patient advocacy group. The National Embryo Donation Center (NEDC) in Knoxville, TN, was influential in the adoption of the bill that specifically, uniquely and clearly addresses the rights and responsibilities of all parties to embryo donation and parentage rights of children born as a result of donated embryos. The bill takes effect July 1, 2013.
