A petition begun by Claire Hooper, a member of Patients For Stem Cells (www.patientsforstemcells.org), is currently being circulated calling for President Obama to “please stop the FDA’s [Food and Drug Administration] assertion that the use of our body’s own stem cells (AASC) is a ‘biological drug’ and thereby subject to FDA regulation.” AASC stands for Autologous Adult Stem Cells, orstem cells derived from a person’s own tissue.

The Repair Stem Cell Institute (RSCI) – http://www.repairstemcells.org -- is pleased to announce that it will assist interested patients to take part in a clinical trial based in the United States for the treatment of COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). The FDA approved and compliant trial, which uses adult stem cells, will be conducted only during January 2014 in the U.S. states of Florida and Georgia.
