ResearchInChina - Global and China Low-E Glass Industry Report, 2010

LogoBased on a comprehensive analysis of energy consumption in the aftermath of the energy crisis in 1970s, it has become a global consensus that buildings account for a significant proportion of energy consumption, and standards as well as laws and regulations for the implementation of such standards should be formulated for the energy saving of buildings. As a result, governments worldwide have successively established their own energy-efficient standards for buildings, and implemented a variety of policies to promote energy-efficient building materials, which has greatly boosted the application of low emissivity (Low-E) glass. The sales of Low-E glass worldwide grew rapidly during 1990-2005, and exceeded 250 million m2 in 2005, with a CAGR of around 18%.

ResearchInChina - China Resin Industry Report, 2009-2010

LogoIn spite of rapid growth in China’s capacity of synthetic resin in the recent two years, the ever increasing market demand is still far from being satisfied. In 2009, the self-sufficiency ratio of top five resins was only 65%, elaborately, that of PS was 76.9%; PP 65.6%; PE 52.7%; and ABS 45.6%. Of them, ABS featured a lower self-sufficiency rate, and the ABS capacity of Chinese manufacturers just accounted for around 30% of total ABS capacity of all manufacturers in China

China Rare Earth Industry Report, 2009-2010 - By ResearchInChina

LogoRare earth is the richest strategic resource of China. As of 2009, China’s reserves of rare earth have reached 36 million tons, representing 36.4% of the world’s total. China also boasts the largest rare earth output in the world, accounting for 129,000 tons or 97% of the world’s total output in 2009. The overexploitation of rare earth resources has posed a grave challenge to the sustainable development of China’s rare earth industry.

Global and China Bearing Industry Report, 2009-2010 - By ResearchInChina

LogoIn 2009, affected by the global financial crisis, the global sales of bearings fell by 12.5% year on year to USD34 billion; due to the continuous downturn of the automotive industry, the contribution of automotive bearing to the total sales of bearings dropped to less than 30%, while the machinery bearing’s grew to over 40%. At the same time, the world’s eight major bearing companies all saw sales decline, as shown below:

China Rigid Polyurethane Foam and Raw Materials Report, 2009-2012

LogoRigid polyurethane foam is mainly applied in such fields as refrigerator and freezer, automobile, water heater, and heat preservation of building. According to the structure of demand for polyurethane in China in 2009, refrigerator and freezer took the largest proportion and accounted for 39.4% of the total consumption of rigid polyurethane foam, while building heat preservation held merely 4.2%; in the USA, however, building heat preservation accounted for more than 50% of the total consumption of rigid polyurethane foam. The difference in consumption structure results from the fact that China, as a big manufacturer of refrigerator and freezer, has a relatively large demand for rigid polyurethane foam in the field of refrigerator and freezer, but, with few requirements on building energy conservation and hence low utilization of heat insulators for external walls in the past, has a relatively small demand for rigid polyurethane foam in the field of building heat preservation.

China Beer Industry Report, 2009-2010 - By ResearchInChina

LogoChina’s beer sales volume reached 42.81 million kiloliters in 2009, and the ratio of output to sales achieved 101.3%. Regarding the regional market, the developed East China tended to be mature and stable, so both output and sales volume witnessed a slowdown in growth. However, the underdeveloped regions, the central and the west experienced an increasingly fast growth, thus China’s beer market had been shifting to those regions. In 2009, Southwest enjoyed the highest growth rate in beer output, holding 20%, followed by Northwest with 14.8%. Meanwhile, the number of large corporations decreased by 38 compared with the figure in 2008 via a series of adjustments of China’s beer industry. Such expansions and mergers among the large corporations are continued and gradually expanding towards the central and the west in 2010.
