Social networking may sound frivolous but it can translate into real benefits if exploited in the right way. Though the social networking culture started as a means to meet friends, it has gone further to build business relationships with colleagues and potential clients. It’s long been recognized that word of mouth is one of the best forms of advertising, and social networking is just an online extension of that. The in-house team at Servolve surveyed a few executives from amongst its client base and found that firms that rely heavily on external social networks scored 24 percent higher on a measure of radical innovation than companies that don’t.
