Farmers across Texas have many similarities. They till the ground, removing obstacles, make rows, plant seeds, water, weed, fertilize and carefully tend crops until harvest. Farmers battle various pests that not only damage crops but also destroy the land. Many hours of toil and diligence can be destroyed overnight.

Hogs were first introduced to Texas over 300 years ago by early Spanish explorers. As settlers increased, hog numbers increased. Many hogs were freed during the Texas fight for independence when people were escaping to the United States or Mexico. Hogs began to range freely increasing the feral population.

For decades Texas has struggled with a growing pig epidemic, and Skyhunters Outfitters has a Texas-sized response! Feral pigs are destructive and people have been legally hunting them from the ground for quite some time. It can be tedious, hot and difficult ground hunting wild pigs that can grow up to 320 pounds each! That's a lot of bacon.
