Sovereign Health, a leading national provider of behavioral health treatment services, is on track to open a new treatment facility in Ashland, Pennsylvania, in 2017. This new center, which will provide a mix of evidence-based mental health and addiction treatment services, is highly anticipated by the Ashland community. Although the completion of this facility has taken longer than initially expected, Sovereign Health is committed more than ever to opening its doors to the citizens of Ashland and the surrounding cities.

National behavioral health care provider Sovereign Health has entered into a new partnership with the University of Southern California’s (USC) Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. This new alliance with USC allows Sovereign the opportunity to expand its footprint to a wider audience and bring additional awareness about the mental health and addiction treatment services it provides to patients. By joining forces with USC, Sovereign will reach a new audience with a mix of multimedia channels, including ESPN radio spots, billboard advertising, digital marketing products, and VIP season tickets to football games.

Dr. Tonmoy Sharma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sovereign Health, is featured in a new article in Addiction Professional magazine. In this piece, “CEO calls for more attention to cognitive deficits in assessment, treatment,” Dr. Sharma explores the lack of standardized measurements in addiction treatment, which he says often leads to undetected cognitive deficits in patients and poorly conceived treatment plans. Dr. Sharma points out that by using standard and accepted assessment tools, an organization such as Sovereign Health can, for example, uncover previously undetected cases of adult attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and prevent inappropriate treatment planning.

The interview, which features Sovereign Health’s Chief Clinical Officer Anthony J. Mele, Psy.D., highlights Sovereign Health of Palm Desert’s new Personal Recovery Integrating Men’s Experiences (P.R.I.M.E.) program. This new program has been developed to provide a supportive and safe recovery environment designed to meet the specific issues facing men over the age of 40. The P.R.I.M.E program, which provides treatment for behavioral health and addiction disorders, creates a healing community that fosters recovery and promotes the transition to a sober lifestyle.

Sovereign Health is hosting five continuing education (C.E.) events this month. These courses meet the qualifications for one hour of C.E. credit required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), and are approved for one contact hour by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

White River Academy (WRA), part of the Sovereign Health Group, has been selected for this year’s Best of Delta Award in the Schools category. The award, presented by the Delta Award program, is given to organizations that have made an impact in the community. White River Academy, a residential treatment center for adolescent boys, provides behavioral health services and educational opportunities for boys between the ages of 12 and 17 years old. The Delta Award program is an annual awards program honoring the achievements and accomplishments of local businesses throughout the Delta area.

Sovereign Health of Fort Myers hosted a Food for Thought Luncheon, “Doing Business with the Government: Are You Getting Your Fair Share?”,  on June 2, 2016.  In conjunction with the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce, SCORE nonprofit organization, and Florida Gulf Coast University, the luncheon offered over 40 local business owners the opportunity to better understand how they can work with local, state and federal governments to enhance their establishment within the community.  These luncheons, which began in February, are an excellent networking opportunity for local business people who want to have a stronger presence within the area.  Keith Vautherot, Marketing Coordinator with Sovereign Health of Fort Myers, gave a presentation about the behavioral health and addiction treatment services that Sovereign provides to the community.
