Sovereign Health Group will launch a week-long campaign in support of Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW). The goal of this national campaign, which runs from February 21-27, is to raise awareness about eating disorders, examine myths, and challenge the stigmas and stereotypes about eating disorders.

Gregory Young, LMFT, has joined Sovereign Health as the Senior Director of Clinical Innovation. Mr. Young, who brings a wealth of experience to the San Clemente-headquartered behavioral health treatment center, most recently served as Vice President of Clinical and Operations at Solid Landings Behavioral Health in Costa Mesa, CA. He commenced his tenure with Sovereign Health on Monday, February 8.

Sovereign Health will host four continuing education (C.E.) events this month in Southern California. These courses meet the qualifications for one hour of C.E. credit required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), and are approved for one contact hour by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

The Sovereign Health Group is pleased to announce the opening of a comprehensive treatment center in El Paso, Texas.  This new facility offers specialized treatment for adults dealing with addiction disorders.  The dual diagnosis emphasis identifies the co-occurring condition that contributes to the disorders, addressing the underlying problem and reducing the risk of relapse.  Sovereign Health of El Paso offers treatment for both English-speaking and Spanish-speaking patients.

Sovereign Health of Rancho San Diego is set to host an open house later this month. The event, which will take place on Saturday, January 23, 2016, will be open to the public, particularly members of the behavioral health and addiction treatment community. The open house will include a tour of the facility, along with a question and answer period. Sovereign Health of San Diego offers a comprehensive treatment program for addiction and mental health disorders for adolescents ages 12-17. Patients receive treatment for behavioral issues through multiple treatment modalities, including cognitive behavior therapy, dialectic behavior therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, under the controlled supervision of expert clinicians and staff.

Sovereign Health is pleased to announce the opening of a new eating disorder program at its San Clemente facility. The program specializes in the treatment of anorexia nervosa and bulimia, providing both inpatient and outpatient services for adult women. The eating disorder program offers each patient an individualized plan, encompassing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Patients will also participate in individual and group sessions, nutrition and body-image therapy and experiential treatments, such as art and equine therapy.

Sovereign Health of Pompano Beach will host an open house event to commemorate the launch of the company's new treatment facility. Larry Snyder, MD, who serves as the lead physician for the Sovereign Health Group's San Clemente treatment facility, has been recognized as one of the top doctors in Orange County for 2016 by the Castle Connolly Research organization. This honor will be featured in the January issue of Orange Coast magazine. Dr. Snyder also serves as a clinical faculty member at the UC Irvine Medical Center and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Addiction Medicine. In addition, Dr. Snyder is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
