CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (the-ascott.com/) (Ascott), continues to expand its presence in India with the soft opening of its first Somerset brand of serviced residence in the country. The debut of the 187-unit Somerset Greenways Chennai (somerset.com/india/chennai/somerset_greenways.html) follows the company’s recent opening of the 96-unit Citadines Richmond Bangalore (citadines.com/india/bangalore/richmond_bangalore.html). Somerset Greenways Chennai is a joint venture between Ascott and Rattha Group, a company in the field of infrastructure development, leasing and exports in India.

The Ascott Limited (www.the-ascott.com/) (Ascott), a wholly-owned serviced residence business unit of CapitaLand, has appointed Mr Vincent Wee as Managing Director for India and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. He is responsible for developing growth strategies and managing Ascott’s business in these regions. Mr Wee is concurrently the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Ascott Residence Trust Management Limited (ARTML).

CapitaLand’s wholly-owned serviced residence business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), has appointed Mr Graham Black as its Country General Manager for Vietnam. Mr Black, a veteran of the hospitality industry, will oversee Ascott’s operations and ensure the continued growth of its serviced residence business in Vietnam.

Slated to open in late 2012, the 169-unit Citadines Jinshang Road Xiamen is the first international branded serviced residence in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The latest addition has reinforced Ascott’s leadership position as the largest international serviced residence owner-operator in China with more than 8,000 apartment units in 42 properties across 17 cities.
