When performing car maintenance it has become apparent that many people forget to carry out radiator hose inspections. A cars radiator is extremely important and it has to be looked after. Over time radiator hoses can weaken and require replacing – if not they may collapse entirely, cause an engine to overheat and result in much more serious problems.

According to official figures recently released, petrol prices across the UK are currently the highest than they have been for over a year. They prices have just hit a whopping 112.35p per litre for unleaded petrol and 114.4p per litre for diesel, which is the most expensive that they have been since back in August 2015.

Across the country supermarkets have recently slashed petrol and diesel prices by an average of 2p per litre, with supermarket giant Asda announcing a 'national cap' which means that motorists will no longer have to pay more than 106.7ppl on diesel and 105.7ppm at their 272 stations across the country. In accordance to this Tesco introduced a 2p drop, which is already in effect.

A contentious issue for a number of years now, the UK has bold targets to tackle global warming and climate change which could now include the use of hydrogen to heat UK homes. Hydrogen is a much greener gas and plans are now in place to cease the use of natural gas amidst a growing need to find more sustainable alternatives. The move comes as the UK tries to adhere to goals set out in the Climate Change Act, which dictates an 80 per cent cut in emissions on 1990 must be achieved by 2050.

Proposed plans by regulators to slash prices for customers using pre-payment meters could eliminate up to 90% of profits, energy giant Utilita has warned. Energy suppliers have been under scrutiny in the last couple of years following vast and consistent complaints of overcharging. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has been overseeing the activities of energy companies to ensure ethical charging practices across the board. In 2015 they found that customers had been overcharged for their tariffs to the tune of £1.7bn per year.
