Prince Edward theatre in London

Prince Edward theatre was built on Old Compton Street in London. The theatre inaugurated on 3rd April 1930 and it was Rio Rita musical which was performed here on its opening. During its short debut, the theatre saw immense success. Its design is inspired from the famous architect Edward A who had designed several buildings and all was considered as a unique designs. The impressive door at its entry takes you to a roomy round foyer. Art has been done in a new way while staircases rising towards stalls and dress circle. The structure looks palatial from outside while the inner were lavishly decorated. The hall of the theatre was able to accommodate 1650 audiences at once. Though, the stage was small and later exceeded. The Theatre hosted several shows at the time of its initial days that contains Nippy in 1930. The shows of Josephine Baker's London introduced here at the prince Edward theatre London in 1933. She was the most familiar cabaret dancer, who was also known as 'The Idol of Europe', acted 'Banana Dance' in the hall of the Prince Edward Theatre. She was happy to see the elegant size of the theatre. After playing a number of business movies films, the Prince Edward Theatre was very near to shut down due to insufficient funds. But there were other things which were waiting for the theatre and later it was changed into a cabaret-restaurant. After a grand refurbishing, it was opened on 3rd March 1993 and the musical Mamma Mia enjoyed a huge success. The show completed five glorious years over here and currently spreading the magic of Jersey Boys a most popular show in the history of music and Prince Edward theatre tickets is the great medium to cherish their magic at weekend.
