South Korea Nov 26 - Moim Consulting, A South Korea Based Maritime solution provider has launched a new Marine Pad this September 2011 to enhance maritime Safety and Ensure Compliance with regulations. This Tablet helps the crew onboard to plan their Weekly and Daily Work, Conduct Risk Assessments, Fill Permits and Checklists, Schedule Work hours and comply with Rest hour regulations. This new software can also be used with an existing computer on board and the permits, checklists can be filled without the need to print and be sent to office for approval if required. The system also maintains an audit log of the permits, checklists and risk assessments to determine if the crew is complying with SMS with regards to use of such safeguards. The new touch screen interface also eliminates the need to send whole of the word document to office for approval and instead just transmits the ticks and the crosses to synchronize with the checklist in the office server for approval. This helps to save on communication costs. The Rest hour module helps to continuously record work hours and automatically prepares reports for inspection by the PSC. This will ensure that even if the crew fails or forgets to fill in their rest hour they are automatically updated as per their fixed work schedule. The system warns against any Non-Compliance and prompts for a reason for such NC. The system can be customized for Best practice and Risk Assessment sharing between various ships in the fleet. This helps to prevent staffs on different ships from repeating the work. The shore office can monitor daily work being carried out onboard. The work planning module also enhances the interaction between various departments on board for smooth execution of work. The Company also provides tailored integration with the current systems onboard. The Marine Pad can be used as a tool to keep control over Marine Operations both planned and Unplanned. This will greatly reduce the costs associated with Non-Compliance, ensure stake holder satisfaction with the company quality systems and increase crew productivity with regards to administrative reporting. This customized software Module in OPRAS caters to the excruciatingly complex regulations under ILO, STCW 2010, MLC 2006, 33CFR, OPA90. 46CFR. With so many regulations in force either running concurrently or partially excluded, dependent on the trading region, it is virtually impossible to manually calculate or even anticipate the violations that may ensue from a given pattern of work or rest over any given period. It is therefore, imperative that the users and evaluators have a friendly tool to enter the data and instantly see the warnings or violations. The tool should as far as possible indicate the hour at which the violation occurs and the clauses affected. Our software provides a comprehensive display of hours worked, rested with tabulated violations under various governing regulations - Confirmed violations are shown in red color in the calendar. Potential future violations based on work schedule are shown in pink. The software also calculates the crew overtime based on a Holiday list set up by the crew for various nationalities. We have provided an Non Conformity report sheet which shows the user at which hour and time the violation is caused. The user may select from 'Rest' regime or 'Work' regime. Also, the user can suspend MLC 2006 computations, thus allowing the STCW waiver rules to be considered. In other words, with MLC regime selected, STCW waivers are not considered and violation count is potentially increased. The STCW 2010 rule of minimum 1 hour or rest is incorporated into the coding. Monthly data is saved to tiny text files and can be retrieved at any time or sent by e-mail to the head office for their reference. Data entered in 'Hours' page is exported to reports patterned on the 'MODEL FORMAT FOR RECORD OF HOURS OF REST OF SEAFARERS. OPRAS is marine software designed to help you plan work, schedule work hours, conduct risk assessments, Fill Permits and checklists and comply with your SMS and Rest hour requirements.
