UNSTUCK: an OCD kids movie

UNSTUCK: an OCD kids movie is a short documentary that premiered in July as the keynote presentation at the 24th annual International OCD Foundation Conference in San Francisco. The film was created by Kelly Anderson and Chris Baier, who both parents of children with OCD. Their mission was to fill a void in the mental health community with a story that showed kids and families that recovery from OCD is possible with the right therapy. To uncover what OCD is, and what it isn’t, the focuses on an unlikely group of experts: kids. UNSTUCK documents OCD through kids’ eyes only. It avoids sensationalizing compulsions and obsessions, and instead reveals the complexity of a disorder that affects both the brain and behavior. As these six resilient kids and teens roadmap their process of recovery, the film inspires viewers to believe it is possible to fight their worst fears and beat back OCD.
